INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FROM A TRAUMA-INFORMED, ATTACHMENT-ORIENTED & PARTS WORK PERSPECTIVE

Break the chains that are holding you back & build the relationships you want

Do you see yourself in these thoughts?

“Why isn’t it ever enough no matter what I achieve?”
“I know people love me but why can’t I feel it?”
“Why am I always so scared despite success?”
“I’m not stupid but I can’t figure out what’s wrong in my life.”

You might feel like you’re running. Running from task to task, or maybe even running away from a dangerous unknown that feels overwhelming. When you stop to catch your breath, it’s thoughts like these that sneak in and disrupt your peace.

Your critical internal narrative affects every aspect of your life.

There are times in life when it takes all we have just to make it through the day. We find ways to survive or endure. In the short term, these strategies can be life-saving, but when they become our long-term strategies (even our way of life) we inevitably feel stuck.

It may feel that your way of being is unchangeable because it feels so natural to overthink or self-criticize. But what if new ways of being can be learned? What if you could find a new path forward?

Jorge Mendoza Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas

Hi, I’m Jorge.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas providing online therapy to individuals across the state. All my life I’ve been fascinated with discovering the motivation behind behavior, my own included.

I feel called to therapeutic work to share what I’ve learned with others, and help teaching these concepts and skills in a way that will truly stick with you. Learn about how I can help you heal and the values that drive our work together.

  • Working virtually allows us to connect in a place that feels safe to you, that ultimately saves you time. My license as an LPC in Texas allows me to work with anyone throughout the state.

  • My clinical training is in Dissociative Processes and Complex Trauma.

From this perspective, I teach clients to identify and integrate all parts of themselves, particularly the parts they would rather “wish away”.

  • There is more to therapy than talking about the things you’ve been through. I am called to client work to show up and do the work with you. Your experiences mean more than words and individual moments. I want to sift through them to find themes, tools, and coping tactics that help you find your depth.

Therapy can make a difference in the way you see yourself & the world.

Mending Experiences is a person-centered counseling experience designed for you from the ground up. I only offer individual counseling because it is you, as an individual, that has the power to recognize your experience and make change that matters.

Are you ready to see the forest for the trees and mend the places where you can’t flourish? If you feel like your self-awareness has hit its limit, but you’re ready to do the work, I’m ready too.

Improve your connection with yourself and others

Individual therapy has a ripple effect on your life. When you begin to look inward, you’ll see the impact in your external world too. Taking the time and energy to navigate the things you’re going through can help you to be a more empowered person in your relationships with friends, romantic partners, family, and colleagues.

Are you ready to…

  • Connect authentically in your life?

  • Really get into the nitty gritty of yourself?

  • Flourish in your internal world?

  • Move past the therapy basics and dig deep?

  • Acknowledge fear in a strength-based way?

  • I charge $175 per session. My fee is a reflection of the respect I have for your willingness to do the work, and my commitment to supporting you in doing so.

  • For some people, virtual therapy is a better fit due to time, privacy, and consistency. Being virtual allows you to lean into other comforts in order to access the discomfort healing often requires. Virtual therapy can make you feel more secure in this way.

  • I recognize the value of crisis counseling, but this is not a service that I offer. We will only be able to meet at your scheduled appointment time. For immediate intervention, please seek services tailored to meet these needs. If you are in crisis or at imminent risk, please reach out to a crisis center or go to the emergency room. Do not wait for your next appointment.

I am here to help you heal and grow along the way so if crisis preparation is something you’d benefit from, safety plans are always available as part of our work together. These plans will be bespoke for your needs and include local resources available to you in crisis situations.
