The Fee Per Session at Mending Experiences is

Mending Experiences is an Out of Network (OON) Treatment Provider

Many people wonder why therapists don’t take insurance. I’m asked this question often enough that I’d like to explain my reasons.

  • With private pay therapy, you are in control of your care, including choosing your therapist and determining the length of treatment. When insurance pays, there are more strict mandates and timelines to consider, as determined by an insurance rep who isn’t well versed in the intricacies of your challenges.

  • Your private information will not be routed through an insurance company, rather, it will remain with me in HIPAA-secure storage.

  • Many people are concerned about how a mental health diagnosis might affect their career, education, or other life goals. Others may worry about experiences of stigma (internalized and external) that could accompany the diagnosis. While I may talk with you about a mental health label that appears appropriate, this will not affect your medical records outside my office.

  • With private pay therapy, you have the freedom to consult with me on non-billable (non-psychiatric) issues that are important to you, such as exploring your internal system of parts, learning how your attachment style affects current relationships, increasing personal insight and your ability to cope, as well as developing new healthy life goals.

If you have questions about payment structure or options, please feel free to book a free 15-minute consultation with me.

Paying for Therapy

I use Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant service to process transactions (accepts all major credit cards, FSA/HSA, and debit cards) here's a direct link that explains their services: https://www.talktoivy.com/ivypay

Payment is due prior to the start of session for teletherapy services.

My Cancellation Policy

Please give me 24 hours’ notice if you cannot make it to your appointment for any reason.

While notice is important, I do understand that life happens. To accommodate the flexibility we often need when it does, my flexible cancellation policy includes one risk-free no-show. For other appointments, you aren’t present for, 50% of your hourly fee will apply for immediate payment.
